Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork (or ground turkey)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil (optional)
  • Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions, but undercook slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  4. Form the mixture into meatballs.
  5. In a baking dish, layer the cooked spaghetti, marinara sauce, meatballs, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, then bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to mix in different types of pasta or cheese to suit your taste. Let the dish rest to prevent it from falling apart when serving.
