Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Gradually mix in warm water until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 40-90 minutes).
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Divide the dough into small pieces, roll into bite-sized shapes.
- Prepare a baking soda bath by boiling water and adding baking soda.
- Dunk each pretzel bite in the baking soda water for about 30 seconds.
- Place bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with egg wash, if using.
- Sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
These pretzel bites can be frozen after baking and reheated later. Try different toppings such as garlic powder, cinnamon sugar, or cheese for variations.
