A simple yet flavorful recipe for cooking skirt steak to perfection, delivering juicy, tender bites every time.

  • Total Time: 36 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb skirt steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lime juice

Instructions

  1. Combine olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, black pepper, salt, and lime juice in a bowl to create a marinade.
  2. Place skirt steak in a shallow dish or zip-top bag and pour the marinade over it. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet to high heat.
  4. Remove steak from the marinade and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  5. Allow the steak to rest under foil for 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. Slice against the grain into thin strips and serve.

Notes

Marinating overnight enhances the flavor. Be sure to slice against the grain for tenderness.
