- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 soft hamburger buns
- Crushed red pepper (optional)
- Additional toppings (pepperoni, veggies, etc.)
Instructions
- In a pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add pizza sauce to the pan and stir well.
- Mix in the mozzarella and cheddar cheese until melted.
- Split the hamburger buns and place them on a baking sheet.
- Pile the meat-cheese mixture on each bun, topping with extra cheese.
- Broil for 3-5 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free buns or spoon the mixture over zucchini slices. You can also substitute the ground meat with plant-based crumbles for a vegan version.
