Strawberry Cheesecake Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for filling)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese (for frosting)
  • 2 oz unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 2 teaspoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 4 cups flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract; mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
  5. In a saucepan, combine strawberries and sugar; cook until jam-like, then add cornstarch mixed with water to thicken.
  6. Roll out the dough into an 18×12 inch rectangle.
  7. Spread the cooled strawberry filling evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from the long side and cut into 12 even rolls using dental floss.
  9. Place rolls in a greased 9×13 inch pan and let rise for an additional 20-30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Allow the rolls to cool in the pan for 20-25 minutes.
  12. For frosting, beat cream cheese and unsalted butter until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  13. Apply frosting on warm rolls and serve with additional strawberries if desired.

Notes

These rolls can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for 3 months. Reheat before serving for the best taste.
