Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, five-spice powder, red fermented bean curd (if using), Shaoxing wine, garlic, and ginger.
- Marinate the Chicken: Coat chicken pieces in the marinade and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Roasting: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place marinated chicken on a lined baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes, basting with extra marinade halfway through.
- Grilling: Grill marinated chicken over medium heat, turning and basting until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Air Frying: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway for even cooking.
- Baste during the last few minutes of cooking to enhance flavor.
- Check doneness: Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
